Mid-drive chain clearance
The boxes leave just enough space for the mid-drive to operate without interference. The plastic shield between the mid-drive and the box is there for safety and hygiene. On at least one latch per side of the box I am using a twist-tie to prevent the latch from opening due to vibration, at least until I have seen no evidence of the latch wanting to open.
