The Wall begins the last 20 miles of the course that could be described by a San Francisco Peninsula cyclist as "Stage Road on Steriods".
The first hill climbs to 970 feet before dropping again to sea level, then climbing a second ridge "The Endless Climb" of 1890 feet, before dropping down into Ferndale. The first upward pitch through the corner (1/4-mile) averages 20% grade.
