Starting from the lower trailhead on Radio Rd. our route took us directly up the Summit Loop Trail to the Ridge Trail. We turned left and headed east out to the far end of the Southeast Ridge where we stopped for lunch and to enjoy the view. Our return brought us back to the Summit Loop Trail where Cara continued down the Summit Loop Trail the way we had come, while the rest of us had hoped to take the long way down the Summit Loop Trail, but our way was thwarted by a trail closure, so we finished the hike on Radio Rd., arriving at the trailhead the same time as Cara.
