Assembling the mid-drive: Mounting to the bike.
Note the position and size of the washers.
At the left is the mount post, then a thin steel washer, followed by a flat aluminum plate that holds the chain guides (tubes, not visible in this photo), then a steel washer 1/2" ID, and <3/4" OD, then the mid-drive assembly.
The chains from left to right: Chain to rear wheel cluster, chain to motor shaft (freewheel on motor), chain (not visible) to crank.
Note that it is possible to minimize the total right crank offset required by reducing the shaft length to 1" if the chain lines are all perfect.
